There are several rumors around through a couple of message boards that BMW is looking at several locations in the Charleston area.
A high school football message board, Palmetto Football Talk, is saying BMW is looking at an area in Berkeley County.
The area is the 686 acre site where Carolina Nurseries was until it closed down a couple of years ago. It is along Highway 52 and there's a rail line right next to it.
It's been for sale for almost a year. One poster there said everything would be moving from the Upstate, but that is unlikely. What's more likely is BMW moving one of its model plants from Germany.
I heard Boeing bought the area about 6 months ago for their fixtures plant, and they may be giving some or all of it to BMW.
