Week 3 recap

What a week for losing streaks to end. Two of the longest in the state ended on back-to-back nights.

Colleton County's 36 game losing streak ended on Thursday night with an upset win over Wando, 40-37 in Walterboro. They hadn't won since 2009. Here's a video:

Lincoln had a losing streak of 48 games, tied for the longest ever in the state. They hadn't won a football game since 2008, when the seniors on the team were in the 7th grade. Tonight, they broke that hex. They beat Creek Bridge 32-22.

Here is a video of that from Ian McCormick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oi39JRO2SK0

So in two nights, combined 84 game losing streaks went by the wayside. The other big story was Goose Creek beating Summerville, in a very good game at John McKissick Field, 34-17. A crowd of more than 7,000 watched, as the Green Wave kept the score close for almost the entire game. The Gators pulled away in the end.

Stratford beat Fort Dorchester 26-13 at Fort D in a big win for the Knights.

For other scores, you can look at Channel 5's presentation of Friday Night Lights.
