Plan for an 80-team NCAA baseball tournament?

Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game shared an interesting proposal today on his Twitter feed. He talked to a prominent NCAA baseball coach and found out this:

@KendallRogersPG: Just had an interesting talk with a prominent head coach. Plans on proposing an 80-team postseason with five teams in each pod.

Pretty intriguing proposal, too. 80-team postseason format would have five teams in each Regional, w/ top seed getting 1st-rd "bye"

I feel this may be interesting because it would give more teams the chance to be in the tournament, and allow for more representation from smaller conferences. College baseball's postseason is one which has one of the smallest participation rates. Only 64 teams out of over 300 make it now.
