Amazing half court shot!

A cheerleader made one of the best shots you'll ever see tonight. This was at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS.

Ashlee Arnau, a cheerleader, made the shot from half-court, in the middle of a cheerleading motion.

Her windup was like that of a football kicker. Ashlee turned, somersaulted, and hit nothing but net from half-court.

You'll be seeing this. Video from Nathan Epstein.

Kingstree girls basketball coach has died

The girls' basketball coach at Kingstree has died. Sonya Burgess died in a car crash tonight.

More info:

Her Kingstree Jaguars team was scheduled to play Lake City tomorrow. This is per Lou Bezjak of the Florence Morning News.

Burgess was a science teacher at Kingstree, and was born and raised in South Carolina. She also coached volleyball. She was apparently a mother and a wife as well.

This is a very sad time. I can't remember the last time that a basketball coach who was still coaching died the day before a crucial playoff game.

People in Kingstree are mourning. Searching the name Burgess on Twitter has lots of mentions of the coach. https://twitter.com/search/realtime?q=%27burgess%22&src=typd

Another very sad day in the Pee Dee, this after earlier this school year Hartsville football player Ronald Rouse had died on the field.

Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are primary candidates, and UT-Chattanooga is also getting looked at.

Also: SB Nation was told by a source that James Madison, Jacksonville State, UT-Chattanooga and former WAC schools are also being considered.
