Now here's the version of the Notre Dame fan surprised with the national championship tickets.

Ryan Freel dead

Former Cincinnati Reds OF Ryan Freel has died in Jacksonville. Freel also served as St. Joe's baseball coach.

No details are available. First Coast News in Jacksonville is saying it was a suicide. He played for five different MLB teams from 2001-2009.  He is most known for his six-year tenure with the Cincinnati Reds. His career batting average was .268, and he stole 143 bases in his career.

Shooting at Oxford Exchange

From James @spann: Report: There has been a shooting at exit ramp to hwy 78 from the Oxford exchange. 9 police and 3 ambulances there. Report: Suspect on the run now near Anniston was involved with a shooting incident in Cleburne County earlier today.

UNCONFIRMED but hearing of a possible fatality in the incident involving a police officer shot in Oxford. 

The chase started in Heflin heard it was a Heflin officer that was shot in Oxford. Now headed toward Jacksonville.

This shopping center has a Publix, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Kohl's, Best Buy and several other major chains.

There are rumors that there was a shooting at Cracker Barrel and a robbery at the Wendy's.

Apparently the shooting was at the Target in Oxford. Oxford is 84 miles W of downtown Atlanta and 63 miles E of Birmingham. It is near Anniston, AL.

School shooting in Newtown, CT (26 people killed)

There was a school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut this morning in Sandy Hook Elementary School. The school is about an hour west of Hartford, and 75 miles N of Manhattan.

Gunman was carrying two different guns, wearing full camouflage, and shot up to 100 shots. John Miller of CBS News: Second person in custody believed to be a second shooter.

Bill Ritter of WABC: school shooter: guy, early 20s, 2 guns- wearing black. from ct but some link to new jersey. ABC News reports 1 shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary was a 24-year-old in a bulletproof vest with 4 guns.

CBS is reporting 27 people killed. 14 of these were children in a classroom.

Shooting at Clackamas Town Center

@JohnCanzanoBFT (3:44 PT): I am at Clackamas Town Center where panicked people are running from mall. Witness tells me shots fired. Also reporting: Police have established a perimeter, have weapons drawn, and are blocking exits. Mall employee tells me security ordered cages down for all stores.

A witness tells @KATUNews a young man armed w/ an assault rifle and wearing bulletproof vest, camo shirt ran into Macy’s. 

6'2 man with an AR-15 rifle reports a KGW reporter. Outside of a jewelry store. Six or seven shots were fired says a Macy's worker.
