Update on Bolus from one of his close friends on James Island (9/20 at 9:37am): Got text from Kathy (his mom) saying he came through surgery great! They are getting him off of the ventilator today. He will still be in ICU overnight. He will be in MUSC for several more weeks but right now things are looking up.They are requesting that anyone who wants to visit (except Ashlie) to please wait until tomorrow or this weekend. He will still be in the hospital for several more weeks but things are looking up. Thanks for all of the prayers that were sent for Justin, his family and his medical team. Please continue to pray for a full and complete recovery.
He has been in a Columbia hospital for most of two weeks. Last night he had his 2nd surgery. He is now at MUSC in Charleston.
He is a chemistry major there. He was one of the top players in the Lowcountry in 2010 and 2011 at James Island, before suffering a broken right wrist ending his season after six games last year.
Here is more info from David Scott of the Charlotte Observer (news story posted at 6:35pm 9/20): They are non-football related, according to a 49ers news release.
Bolus's condition is improving and he is expected to rejoin the team in the spring.
“With Justin, football is the farthest thing from our minds right now,” said 49ers coach Brad Lambert in a statement. “Our focus is on his well-being and getting him better. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."
Lambert visited Bolus on Wednesday.
"In speaking with his mother this morning, we understand that he is improving -- and that is great news,” said Lambert.
He was signed by the Charlotte 49ers for their start of the football season in 2013.
Please pray for Bolus, his family and his friends.
Stay Strong and get well quick Justin. Prayers for you and your family for a quick and complete recovery.
